We were in Florence at the State of the Union 2019 to discuss the current state of democracy in Europe.

The European Union as we know it is in disarray over some fundamental issues such as migration, populism and climate change. It is clear that Europe in danger, but it is less clear what to expect from the upcoming elections. State of the Union 2019 is the annual flagship conference of the European University Institute at its 9th edition.
