Wojciech Czaja

Freelance journalist and author

Wojciech Czaja, born in Poland in 1978, studied architecture at the TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology). He works as a journalist and author in the fields of architecture and urban culture, including Austrian daily for “Der Standard”. He is a lecturer at the University of Art in Linz and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Recently appeared his books Hektopolis. Ein Reiseführer in hundert Städte [Hectopolis. A travel guide to hundred cities] (2018), Frauen Bauen Stadt. The City Through a Female Lens [Women Build Citiy. The City Through a Female Lens] (2021, with Katja Schechtner) and mittendrin und rundherum [Right in the middle of it and all around] about the architectural office nonconform (2022, with Barbara Feller). During the Corona lockdown of 2020 he launched his photo project Almost – with a book series and a circulating exhibition that has already been shown in the Wien Museum, in the Vienna Main Library as well as in Poland, Croatia and Romania.
