Luke Cooper

Political scientist

Luke Cooper is a historical sociologist interested in processes of political and social transformation within and across societies. His research offers new insights into the role of nationalism and national identity in social change and explores the possibilities for a politics ‘beyond the nation state’. Luke holds a BA in Political Studies earned at University of Leeds, an MSc in Comparative Politics (Research) from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a PhD in International Relations from University of Sussex. He is currently an Associate Researcher on the LSE Visions of Europe project and was from September 2018 until April 2019 Europe’s Futures Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna.
