Nikolaus Pichler, born in 1995, studied journalism & PR in Graz, and did – while studying – at the Austrian daily Kurier and in the news department of stern.de. For the magazine project Postcards from Albania, the journalist from Salzburg spent ten days in the Western Balkans in 2018. He interviewed the mayor of Tirana, as well as contemporary witnesses who survived the terror of communist leader Enver Hoxha. After two years as an editor in the Salzburg local editorial office of Austrian daily Kronen Zeitung and a stopover at the online newsdesk of Austrian daily Heute, he is now working as a chronicle reporter at the Austria Press Agency (APA).
