Emil Brix, born in 1956, since 1982 member of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Austria. Stations as Consul General in Krakow, Director of the Austrian Cultural Institute in London and Head of the Cultural Policy Section in the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2010 to January 2015 he was ambassador to London and until 2017 ambassador to Moscow. Since August 2017 he is director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
